There exists no precise meaning of the word, “ Emotion”, however, it refers to the part of a person's character that consists of their feelings, as opposed to their thoughts....the split between reason and emotion (Collins English Dictionary). Many times we end up indulging in actions that are irrational, and that may or may not cause any harm to others.
With revelatory insights in the higher education institute as an educator and leader, it has been observed that teenagers as well as staff often fail to recognize the need to be self-aware and self-regulate their emotions. We have often focussed on the Intelligence Quotient of an individual while engaging, recruiting or appointing human resources. Grades have often overpowered an individual’s character or management skills. Lack of awareness amongst individuals with regard to emotional intelligence, which refers to the capacity to be aware of, control, and express one's emotions, and to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically is significantly high.
This is the first step towards understanding and evaluating one’s needs and direction toward nurturing and strengthening EQ. The test courses will not help you to know your EQ but provide a direction while choosing the right courses for developing EQ.
